The valves are bi-directional even though valves from DN 700 and up are marked with an arrow indicating the preferred flow direction. The hydraulic test is always done from both directions according to BS EN 1074-1 and 2 / BS EN 12266

Replaceable shaft sealing and optional locking The shaft sealing is replaceable under pressure to enable easy maintenance. Sealings of EPDM secure tightness from inside and out, and NBR sealings protect against impurities from outside. • DN 200-600: An EPDM O-ring on a stainless steel ring, a back-up EPDM O-ring in the housing, a flat EPDM gasket, and an NBR O-ring. • DN 700-2200: Two EPDM O-rings on each side of the bronze bushing, and a flat NBR gasket.
